Spring is here! And with it, the urge to gather my girlfriends, pile into the car and DRIVE! Whether a day trip, or a weekend away,  our Caroline Weekender will be the perfect companion on all of your memory making road-trips. Made of 100% cotton duck and a vintage-inspired pear print, the Caroline measures 21″wide, 14″ tall and 5″ deep. It has double-stitched handles for durability, three interior pockets and a magnetic snap closure.  The Caroline Bag may also be customized in your choice of fabrics.

Our Samantha Tote is so versatile, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it! Cotton canvas lining gives it structure and support, while the bohemian print cotton exterior gives it character. It has three divided pockets and a wood button closure (every button will be different). The strap is just long enough to sling  over your shoulder for a long bike ride, or a hands-free day at the market. This bag may be customized with any of our fabrics.

The Cara Tote is perfect for everyday. Fun with it’s irregular pleating and a little funky in a great pairing of two 100% cotton, retro Amy Butler fabrics. Measuring 14.5″ tall, 12″ wide at the top, and 17″ at bottom it’s just the right size for running around town or anywhere the wind might take you.  The Cara tote has 22″ straps, a straight-line pocket, and  silver magnetic snap closure.

The matching zippered make-up bag measures approximately 5″x8″ and is lined with (re-purposed) clear vinyl to make clean-up a breeze!

As a child, I remember my grandmother always seemed to be wearing an apron. She used it to collect vegetables from the garden, open stubborn jars and even wipe away the occasional tear. A sweet reminder of Grandma’s favorite apron, the Ada Tote is a modern take on a vintage classic. It’s tie straps (which can be adjusted to wear as a sling, or on your shoulder) are just as versatile.  It is made of 100% cotton in a fun pairing of two Hello Betty retro florals that are enhanced with subtle pleating. The straps and outer layer are fused with a medium weight interfacing to give it a bit of body. The Ada measures 13″ tall, 14″ wide and will expand up to 9″ to hold all your treasures.

The Georgia Tote welcomes spring as happily as the first peaks of Hyacinth blooms through the snow. Crafted with a beautiful blue linen exterior, and lined in unbleached cotton canvas.  The Chelsea Market Tote is feather-light and easily compactible. At the market or the mall, it is the only bag you’ll need this spring! 100% eco-friendly, made of the palest robin’s egg blue linen and lined in an unbleached cotton muslin (even the threads are cotton).  The wide shoulder strap resists slipping, and it has an inner pocket to keep your necessities close at hand. Feel good about it’s sustainability, and look great too!

 
I find myself (after having spent the better part of winter in my house, bundled up and making comfort food) dreaming of warm summer days spent flea-marketing, digging in my garden and playing with my kids at the beach. So, to get over my intense cabin fever, I spent some time designing this great Beach tote. At 26″ wide and 18″ tall, it is the largest bag we make, and will hold absolutely EVERYTHING you need for a trip to the beach, or a spontaneous weekend getaway! It is construcetd with Amy Butler’s August Fields Poppy made of 100% cotton, lined in an unbleached cotton canvas. Wide, durable straps; zipper pockets and/or open top pockets make this as functional as it is stylish.

Here I Am!

So, this blogging thing is new to me..but making things, designing and re-purposing has always been a passion of mine. I have re-finished furniture, re-wired antique lamps and when I was unable to find the drapes, shades or pillows I wanted; I made them. I made a few Halloween costumes for my own children, and growth charts to match my friends nurseries.
But as it happens, my kids got older,  and I wanted to continue to stay at home while contributing financially to my family…Thus my ginger peach handbags was born!

While I love ALL purses,  I wanted to make mine in an environmentally responsible way. So, very few parts of my bags are not 100% cotton, hemp or linen. I only use zippers and metal snaps upon the request of my clients.  We also make a line of eco-bags out of  ‘up-cycled’ vintage fabrics.  Each of our bags is custom made, which means you get exactly what you want, and we waste very little….
